The BBC promise that 2012's live Children In Need show will pull out all the stops to go beyond last year's £26 million donation total.
Presented by Sir Terry Wogan, Fearne Cotton, Tess Daly and Radio 1 breakfast DJ Nick Grimshaw, the show boasts comedy spoofs, musical performances and celebrity drama. One Direction, Susan Boyle and musician and comedian Tim Minchin will also showcase their talents on behalf of the charity, which supports children who suffer from illness and poverty within the UK.
The recently reunited Girls Aloud will also be partying for Pudsey as they debut their new single, Something New.
David Ramsden, BBC Children in Need chief executive, said: "This year's campaign is bigger and better than ever and people right across the country are once again coming together to raise thousands that will help change the lives of disadvantaged children right here in the UK."
