Emmy-winning actress Christina Applegate was rewarded wtih a hug from her proud actress mum Nancy Priddy after being named 'woman of the 21st century' at a Beverly Hills ceremony this week.
She had been chosen in recognition of her brave battle against breast cancer and for being an inspiration to other women in the way in which she tackled the diagnosis.
Christina - whose mum has also suffered from the disease – remained upbeat and positive during treatment, while refusing to allow the reconstructive surgery she needed affect the filming schedule of her hit comedy Samantha Who?
