Kiefer Sutherland has revealed he is a fan of Coronation Street, while admitting he recognises himself in The Office's David Brent character.

"When I was a kid there was always Coronation Street and more recently The Office. I love it but find it very difficult to watch - especially when I see myself in David Brent and think, 'I've done that'," says the 24 star, who was born in Britain.

"I also watch BBC news because the American news is so s***," he adds.

The actor, whosefinal 24 scenes are due to be screened next month, admits it was a tearful time as he bid farewell to the action drama.

"It was a scene in the finale... well, Jack cried," he says.

"I made a speech to the crew at the end and although I didn't cry, I did hit a point where I couldn't speak any more - I felt the wind knocked out of me so bad and my lip went and I had to try very hard to keep it together. That was the most emotional moment I've had in a long time."
