'Emmanuelle' actress Sylvia Krystel dies at 60

Sylvia Krystel, star of the hit 1970s erotic movie Emmanuelle, has died of cancer aged 60.

The Dutch model-turned-actress died in her sleep on Wednesday night, after fighting the illness for several years.

The iconic French film tells the tale of a beautiful young married couple and their sexual adventures in Thailand.

Sylvia went on to star in a string of sequels, as well as Hollywood movie Private Lessons in 1981.
