The Queen proved that Carole Middleton is now part of the family last week, inviting her to join the royal procession at Ascot.
But Prince Harry clearly adopts a different approach to welcoming new in-laws, as demonstrated by a bit of horseplay with Mike Tindall, his cousin Zara's fiancé.
The mischevious prince was spotted joking around with the England rugby captain, who has just returned from a rather high-spirited stag weekend in America.
They tussled on the grass at a charity polo match, Harry falling to the ground after failing to match Mike’s tackling skills.
Zara was also keen to get in on the action, wrestling with her cousin on a grassy bank nearby.
Mike and Zara, who will marry next month, also put on an affectionate display at the polo match, hugging and play-fighting.
