Zac Efron shows Vanessa his 'serious side'

In a cool and hip 1960’s-inspired skinny suit, Zac Efron took to the red carpet in Los Angeles on Tuesday to promote his new movie Charlie St. Cloud.

And there to support her man was girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, looking stunning in a dazzling satin dress.

Marking the High School Musical star’s leap into more serious roles, the new project highlights his talents as a very versatile actor.

In the film, Zac’s character is overcome with grief when his younger brother is killed in a car accident and he must choose between keeping a promise he made to his brother or going after the girl he loves.

"It was really fun to come to this place which is very different than anything I've done before," said Zac.

As the ladies swooned, the young heart-throb didn't disappoint, mingling with the crowds to sign autographs for his adoring fans.
