Adrian Chiles "angry" at 'Daybreak' axe leak

It has been reported that the hosts of ITV morning show, Daybreak, have been axed.

Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley were poached from the BBC by ITV to host the new breakfast show in 2010 and were offered highly lucrative deals.

But a slump in ratings has proved too much for the channel, and executives have decided to take action.

Christine took to Twitter after the news was released saying:

"Morning, what a lovely headline to wake up to. My sarcasm comes across in this tweet I hope x"

Co-host Adrian Chiles, spoke to The Sunday People newspaper: “I’m angry, upset and acutely embarrassed.

He went on to speak of how both he and Christine knew of the decision but were not ready for it to be announced through a leak.

"Myself and Christine were told we would be going in the New Year but we were assured we could go with our dignity intact. That’s obviously not happened.

"Dark forces have leaked it for their own ends and I am mightily unhappy about it."

Eamonn Holmes and Natasha Kaplinsky are tipped to replace Adrian and Christine.

ITV did not confirm their departure on Monday, with a spokesman saying the broadcaster did not "comment on speculation"
