David Cameron hoped photos of Sam 'wouldn't appear'

Conservative party leader David Cameron has said he had hoped photographs of his wife Samantha posing for a fashion shoot would never come to light.

The politician told the BBC both he and his wife were "very surprised" to see the snaps - taken more than a decade ago - appear in a Sunday newspaper.

"We were hoping they'd never appear, but they have," said the Mr Cameron, whose wife is pregnant with their fourth child. "But these things happen."
