Michelle Obama in the pink at White House lunch

A recent family vacation has left Michelle Obama looking fresh and relaxed.

After recharging her batteries, the US First Lady was on gorgeous form at a White House luncheon on Wednesday.

Michelle dazzled in a flowing bright pink top and matching trousers from Isabel Toledo, an impeccable ensemble to which she added a colourful brooch.

At the gathering, Barack's wife celebrated winners of the National Design Awards, including Rodarte, a fashion label that has dressed her on several occasions.

And Michelle got a laugh out of her talented guests when she told them, "All of you have spent your lives pushing boundaries - we know a little bit about pushing boundaries - or just outright ignoring them altogether."

The charismatic First Lady and her family are back in the nation's capital after a three-day holiday in Maine, where they were seen enjoying the breathtaking scenery while hiking, boating and biking.
