Oprah Winfrey settles defamation lawsuit out of court
Oprah Winfrey has settled a defamation lawsuit filed by the former headmistress of a South Africa girls' school that she set up.
Nomvuho Mzamane had claimed the chat show queen defamed her in remarks she made in 2007, in the wake of a scandal over alleged sexual abuse at the school.
She said she later had trouble finding a new job because of Oprah's comments.
On Tuesday, lawyers for both parties said they had met "woman to woman" and "are happy that they could resolve this dispute peacefully to their mutual satisfaction".
