Less than two weeks after they announced their separation, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds have filed for divorce.

Canadian actor Ryan, 35, submitted paperwork to end the couple's two-year marriage in Los Angeles on Thursday.

And the 26-year-old actress responded to the petition at the same time.

According to court records, both sides cited December 14 as the date of their separation – the day they announced their break-up - and neither are seeking spousal support.

The couple wed in September 2008.

They said they had made the decision to end their marriage "after long and careful consideration on both our parts."

"While privacy isn’t expected, its certainly appreciated," they added.

A source recently told People that Scarlet and Ryan remain on amicable terms, adding that the couple grew apart under the strain of managing their thriving careers.
