Amy's grieving family left with 'gaping hole' in their lives

The family of tragic Amy Winehouse have been left "bereft" by her untimely passing.

In a statement released on Sunday, Amy's mother Janis, father Mitch and brother Alex paid a moving tribute to the 27-year-old, who died at her North London home on Saturday afternoon.

"Our family has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece," they said.

"She leaves a gaping hole in our lives.

"We are coming together to remember her and we would appreciate some privacy and space at this terrible time."

A spokesman for the family said that a funeral would be held as soon as possible.

As of yet no date had been set while the police continue their investigations.
