There was a warm welcome for King Abdullah of Jordan as he touched down in Madrid this week.
The 47-year-old was greeted with a friendly embrace from Spain's King Juan Carlos as he stepped off his plane.
After meeting, the royal pair went on to Madrid's Zarzuela Palace, where the Spanish monarch and his wife, Queen Sofia, hosted a private luncheon for their guest.
Later, Abdullah met with Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, who led discussions about Spain's support for the new EU-Jordan Action Plan, “which will include arrangements regarding the Jordanian negotiation proposal for an advanced statute.”
