Wills moved over fallen comrades at war memorial ceremony

Prince William was moved to tears this this week as he read the newly-carved names of two of his fallen Army comrades on a new 'wall'-style monument in Staffordshire.

The soldiers, Lieutenant Joanne Dyer, and Major Alexis Roberts, were both killed in the line of duty in 2007. Lieutenant Dyer, who lost her life in Iraq, had trained with the Prince, while Major Roberts, who was killed in Afghanistan, guided him through 44 weeks of officer training at elite military academy Sandhurst.

William attended the ceremony at the war memorial  to support the launch of an appeal which aims to turn the site on a man-made mound in the Alrewaz arboretum into a major centre of remembrance
