Tom Hiddleston on fame and seducing Rachel Weisz

Monday November 28, 2011

Tom Hiddleston is relieved to have found fame now – because it's given him time to grow.

Despite acting for over 10 years, the British star – who's up for the Bafta Orange Wednesdays Rising Star award – has only just hit the big time.

He said: "It feels very rewarding because it didn't happen instantly.

"I have had to question myself and do a lot of soul-searching about why I am really doing this in the course of that time."

Cinema goers are swooning over him following turns in Kenneth Branagh's superhero movie Thor and Woody Allen's romantic drama Midnight In Paris.

Tom, 30, also sent shivers down Rachel Weisz' spine when they teamed up for romantic drama The Deep Blue Sea.

He plays an ex-RAF pilot who charms her character – a woman who leaves the safety of her marriage to a judge to be with him.

"Freddie seems like a very charming and dashing pilot and he is thrillingly alive," he said.

"Hester falls for his vitality, passion and his charm. Every fibre of him is alive."
