Liz Hurley was emphasising her Indian connections when she turned out for a gala fundraiser in New York this week. The Estée Lauder model had opted to wear an elegant pink and green sari to the glitzy event, while her partner Arun Nayar, who originally hails from Mumbai, complemented her perfectly in a sharp Nehru suit.

The glamorous couple were among stars turning out for the annual Red Hot Pink Party. Tycoon Donald Trump was likewise in attendance, along with his new wife Melania Knauss, who wore a low-cut silk affair. The yearly bash was staged in the Big Apple's Waldorf Astoria hotel to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Liz's chum Sir Elton John was also in attendance. The veteran musician made a rather more understated fashion gesture, accessorising his black suit with a pink crucifix and rose-timed sunglasses, while his long-time partner David Furnish got in the spirit of things with a shocking pink leather jacket.

Despite being a style icon in her own right, Liz obviously has a high regard for Elton's fashion skills, as she has let him take charge of her son Damien's image. The 58-year-old musician apparently takes his godson shopping twice a year, providing him with a whole new wardrobe each time.
