01 JULY 2010

There's something about landing in a foreign country, unpacking, rubbing on the sun cream and heading out to see the sights that gives anyone a real kick.

Eva Longoria was so excited about her hols she posted snaps of her adventures on Facebook for her fans, writing happily: "I love vacations!"

The first stop for the Desperate Housewife and her basketball player husband Tony Parker – now off duty from his side, the San Antonio Spurs – was arguably the most romantic city in Europe, Venice.

Like any tourist Eva threw herself into traditional activities, taking a sunset boatride with the sports star, whom she married in a fairytale ceremony in France two years ago.

But despite the cosy atmosphere, the loved-up pair weren't alone. They were joined by friends including Prison Break's Amaury Velasco, his girlfriend Jennifer Morrison of House, and actress Maria Bravo.

At one point the party was spotted gaily squeezed into a gondola with a group of musicians to serenade them.

Later the guys left the boys to their own devices so they could visit the Ferrari factory.

Then the high-jinks moved on to Madrid, prompting Eva to post pictures of herself eating huevos estrellados – or egg and chips – and another local speciality jamon serrano, which is cured ham.

Alongside the pictures the Latina lovely, who is of Mexican origin, had written: "Adios Madrid! Gracias por su apoyo!" – "Bye Madrid! Thanks for your support".
