Move over, David Beckham. Though Victoria's famous husband has made the most of his photogenic looks and admirable physique in advertising campaigns, he's no longer the only footballer finding fashionable success off the pitch.
Arsenal star Freddie Ljungberg's face – and sculpted body – is now recognised among football fans and non-fans alike thanks to his sexy underwear ads for Calvin Klein. The Swedish-born hunk follows in the footsteps of actor Mark Wahlberg and Australian model Travis Fimmel in the coveted pin-up post.
Rio Ferdinand of Manchester United showed off his super fit form for Ben Sherman designs, while Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Brazil's Kaká have also become sought after figures in the world of advertising. Cristiano, who also plays for Beckham's former club, Man U, strikes a sensual pose for Pepe Jeans. And Kaká, of AC Milan, is a picture of modern masculinity in his layout for Armani Jeans.
The Italian designer has also featured England goalkeeper David James, sporting very little clothing, for the Emporio Armani line. Handsome David is decidedly more dressed in his newest adverts for H&M's menswear. |
