She got behind the wheel for a sun-soaked road trip in Crossroads and now Britney Spears has been seen speeding up the pace preparing for her second film role as a race car driver.

The Las Vegas Motor Speedway was closed to the public last week while Britney underwent an hour's training to get ready for the upcoming movie, in which she plays a NASCAR team owner's daughter.

The sexy diva enthusiastically hit the track, taking a stockcar to up to 118 mph on the 1.5 mile oval. "I did 20 laps round the course at lightning speed," says the singer-turned-actress. "It was awesome."

The Overprotected star was apparently a natural, as the manager of Richard Petty Driving Experience Brad Mark gave the thumbs up for her speedway moves. He reveals: "We thought Britney would be scared stiff, but she loved every minute of it."
