Crown Princess Mette-Marit enjoyed some snowy family time with husband Crown Prince Haakon this week, taking son Marius and the couple's daughter, Princess Ingrid-Alexandra, to Oslo's annual ski festival.

The rosy-cheeked little ones braved the cold in matching knit hats, and were surely kept especially warm by the cosy embrace of their mum. Ingrid Alexandra and Marius had plenty of company in the royal box, as their grandparents King Harald and Queen Sonja – as well as Denmark's Queen Margrethe – also attended the event.

Spending time with her husband and children at the ski fest has been just one of the high points for popular Mette-Marit this winter. In December, just before Princess Ingrid turned one, a poll showed that 84 per cent of Norwegians approved of Mette-Marit's performance as princess.

However, Mette-Marit was in the news for very different reasons this past weekend. Her father Sven Hoiby, whose previous antics have made him a controversial figure in Norway, made headlines once again by marrying a 34-year-old former stripper.
