Crown Prince Philippe of Belgium and his wife Crown Princess Mathilde , are expecting their third child, it has been announced.
An official statement from the Palace confirmed the baby is due this October. According to the announcement, the prince and princess "are very happy to give a little brother or sister" to their other children – three-year-old Princess Elisabeth, who is second in line to the throne, and her younger sibling, 20-month-old Prince Gabriel.
The new arrival will be the ninth grandchild of King Albert II and Queen Paola, and the fourth in the line of succession.
