Prince Harry used his last days of freedom before entering Sandhurst to make a return visit to Lesotho. The 20-year-old, who is now tackling the challenges of military life, was photographed during a quick trip to the orphanage where he worked as a volunteer last year.

The young royal also used his trip to visit girlfriend Chelsy Davy in South Africa, but that wasn't the only reunion he was looking forward to - he was likewise delighted to see four-year-old Mutsu Potsane, with whom he struck up a friendship on his previous visit. "He was still wearing the blue wellies I gave him last year even though it was really hot," revealed the Prince afterwards.

Harry originally journeyed to the tiny African kingdom to make a documentary about the plight of Aids orphans. In the film he spoke of his desire to make his late mother Princess Diana proud by continuing her charitable work. And before returning to England to face Sandhurst's tough drill instructors, the third in line to the throne also made sure to thank all those who had responded to his appeal for people to support the Red Cross.

"Thanks to all who gave donations," he said. "We were able to turn the money into direct help for those who have needed it most. It is very difficult to help all those who are suffering, but for me last month to be able to revisit the areas from the documentary, and see the smiles and happiness as a result of people's donations, was hugely rewarding."
