Princess Anne has been doing her best to raise the spirits of those affected by last Thursday's bomb attacks in London. The Princess Royal put a smile on the face of many of the patients in Bloomsbury's University College Hospital when she stopped by to cheer them up on Monday afternoon.
The royal visitor was eager to praise the efforts of doctors and nurses who worked around the clock to help dozens of innocent victims who were brought to the facility for treatment. She and her husband, Rear Admiral Tim Laurence, also had some kind words for patients like Tadeuz Gryglewicz, who is still recovering from his injuries.
Tad, as his friends know him, had been sitting on the number 30 bus when one of bombs detonated just feet away from him. "Initially he was at the back of the bus then a seat came free in the middle and he moved," revealed a friend. "That was a very lucky move." The civil engineer was also fortunate to find himself within a few hundred yards of the hospital when he emerged from the wreckage of the vehicle.
July 10 should have been a day of celebration for Princess Anne, as she was one of the leading supporters of London's successful Olympic bid. Her priorities swiftly changed when the British capital came under attack on Thursday morning, however, and she and the rest of the Royal Family have since been doing all they can to show their support for the victims and their families. |
