Like his younger brother Harry, William chose to train at the elite military academy Sandhurst followed by a stint with the Household Cavalry, which specialises in the hazardous role of armoured reconnaissance. Unlike his sibling, the second-in-line to the throne won't be making a career of the military or ever enter a war-zone, however.
Despite his wish to not be "mollycoddled" and serve alongside his men on the front-line, the action-loving Prince has had to accept he would be putting not only himself but also his troops at risk, as he would be a prize target for the enemy.
