Global superstars One Direction will be returning to their home turf to raise funds for Comic ReliefHarry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson have reworked Blondie's hit One Way Or Another to release as the charity's official single. Dedicating their time to the cause, the 1D boys are begging their fans to buy the single, which will is available to pre-order from today. Band member Niall said: "We are really excited to be part of Red Nose Day this year. We recorded Blondie’s One Way or Another and we really want the song to raise lots of money and for people to show their support by going out and buying themselves a copy." Fellow One Directioner Louis added: "Getting the chance to perform Blondie’s song will be incredible. We’re so excited! Red Nose Day is a great excuse to have a lot of fun and to raise money, please get involved."

The cause was brought a lot closer to home for the boys when they visited Ghana in January. Speaking to actress Nina Wadia about their excursion, the boy band said that they came away deeply affected by the trip. Louis said: "It was a great experience. It's actually really difficult to put into words exactly what you were feeling and exactly what you saw...because you almost just want to take everybody and say 'Look, this is what it's like'." Harry added: "When you're there... at the end of the day, when it gets too much for you for a minute, you can go outside or you can drive back to wherever you're staying and you think about it at night that the people that you meet can't just drive and get out of the roughness and stuff... so you just kind of think however bad we felt that night, we got to go home, have a shower, and they don't... they have to go to sleep like that and get up the next day and do it all over again."

It seems that the boys weren't quite as well-known to some of the locals as other boybands. Liam mentioned, "There were a few lads that asked if we were Westlife which we thought was quite funny!" Harry added, "We played football with some guys and they were shouting 'Westlife, Westlife, Westlife'!" Joining the likes of Melanie Chisholm, Dara O' Briain, Mary Berry and Miranda Hart to raise money for the course, the boys are in good company. Whilst Melanie and her cohorts navigate the 100km long Zambezi river in Zambia, Jessie J will be shaving off her raven-haired locks to raise funds for the cause.
