Tyra Banks, after just three seasons as host of Dancing with the Stars – she first joined the team in 2020 for season 29 – has decided to leave the popular dancing competition.

For the 32nd season, in her place will now be none other than Julianne Hough, a professional dancer herself, and the sister of longtime judge Derek Hough.

And while a changing of the guard isn't always easy, and can be bittersweet for both fans and the DWTS family, the former America's Next Top Model host already sees success in her successor's future.

Speaking with Us Weekly of her departure, she assured fans of the show that her role was now in perfectly capable hands, and told the outlet: "The businesswoman in me sees how Julianne is great on multiple levels," adding: "She's a professional dancer. She is the sister of Derek [Hough], a "DWTS" multi-champion, who is now a stellar judge."

Tyra also noted how seeing siblings Derek and Julianne work together on the show will be an exciting dynamic for fans to get to witness, and she said: "It's going to be a family affair in that ballroom which people will love to watch."

She added: "The incredible team that brings the ballroom to life every night has been my family for the past 17 years. I am so excited to reunite with Alfonso, Carrie Ann, Bruno, Derek, the unbelievably talented pros, and the amazing cast on the dance floor.

"The energy is magnetic every time you step foot into the ballroom and I can't wait to feel it again – and of course to share it all with the absolute best and most loyal fans – for another exciting season."
