Katie Holmes recently marked a poignant personal milestone as she took to the stage for her final performance of the off-Broadway play, The Wanderers.

The 44-year-old actress bid farewell to the production on Sunday night, just ahead of a significant day for her daughter, Suri, who will turn 17 on April 18.

The Dawson's Creek star, who was previously married to actor Tom Cruise from 2006 to 2012, made a triumphant return to the stage after over a decade in The Wanderers.

The play follows the lives of two couples from different worlds, with Katie portraying high-profile celebrity Julia Cheever, who finds herself on the verge of an affair with Abe, played by Eddie Kaye Thomas.

It appears that Suri may be following in her mother's footsteps, as the teenager has been showcasing her talents in the entertainment industry over the last few years.

Recently, the private young woman unveiled her incredible singing voice, performing Blue Moon in the opening credits of Katie's film, Alone Together.

Katie couldn't have been prouder of her daughter's contribution to the movie, telling Yahoo! Entertainment: "She's very, very talented. She said she would do it, and she recorded it, and I let her do her thing." When asked why she chose Suri for the role,

Katie responded: "I always want the highest level of talent, so I asked her."

In a recent interview, the actress opened up about how she and her daughter spent their time during the pandemic lockdown.

Speaking to the sophomore issue of Amazing magazine, Katie shared: "I painted, we had a sewing machine, so we were making quilts, we were cooking; we were on a perpetual vacation."

The mother-daughter duo enjoyed their time by a lake, watching Dirty Dancing multiple times, and dancing together in the living room.

Last year, Katie offered a rare glimpse into her relationship with Suri in an interview with InStyle, saying: "I love her so much. My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality. To make sure she is 100 per cent herself and strong, confident, and able. And to know it."

Suri currently lives full-time with Katie and is believed to be estranged from her father, Tom.
