Richard Gere's beautiful wife Alejandra has opened up about their family life.
The Spanish publicist and political activist, 43, has revealed one rule they have inside their family home in a luxurious complex in La Moraleja in Alcobendas, Madrid.
The pair share sons, Alexander, seven, and James, six, and Alejandra has revealed that she always encourages the children to help with the cleaning up, explaining they attend a Montessori school.
Alejandra wrote: "We spend Sundays together as a family. The kids love helping out around the house, and cooking is one of their absolute favourite things to do. They go to a Montessori school, and I like to carry that approach to learning over at home: letting them join in, try new things, and do more and more on their own. They knead, they measure, and then they help clean up. Their help truly matters, and they know it.
She continued: "This week we’re bringing a Spanish omelette to school to share a little piece of our culture with their classmates. Cooking brings families together, and it brings cultures closer, too."
Richard and Alejandra's blended family
As well as their youngest two children, both Alejandra and Richard have children from previous relationships.
Richard’s oldest son, Homer Gere, 26, is from his previous marriage to Carey Lowell. Homer has followed his father's footsteps and is an actor, making his TV debut in Euphoria, closely followed by The Shards, in which he starred alongside Kaia Gerber.
Talking about his son's foray into the world of acting, Richard told Vanity Fair Spain in 2024: "As it happens, he just started acting too. He has suddenly become interested and seems to enjoy it. He's been writing and directing little movies, so we have this new thing in common."
Speaking to ExtraTV, Richard revealed that Homer had a degree in visual arts and was "on a track" for psychology. He explained: "He started making student films with friends and he was acting them, writing them, directing and just for fun and he started showing me what he was doing and other people wanted to work him, other universities wanted to work with him and… one thing led to another very quickly."
"He's very good," Richard praised his son. "I would have been just as happy if he wasn't. And I could just say, 'Homer, forget it.' But he's really good.
"If he wants it, I'm sure he's gonna have a wonderful career. But he's 26 years old and he doesn't have to make those kind of choices at this point," he said, adding that there is a "whole other level of communication between he and I now."
Meanwhile, Aljeandra shares her 13-year-old son, Albert Friedland, from her previous marriage to Govind Friedland.
