First stop, Diane von Furstenberg's annual Feb. 28 luncheon, which celebrates all the female Oscar nominees! Diane Warren, Rachel Morrison, Ava DuVernay and Tatiana Rigel enjoyed each other's company.
Cinematographer Rachel Morrison and Greta Gerwig - who are both up for major awards this year - chatted together at the luncheon. Rachel, who worked on Mudbound and Black Panther, is the first woman ever to be nominated in the cinematography category, while Greta is nominated for best director and best original screenplay for Lady Bird.
Salma Hayek gave a heartwarming impromptu toast, "When I first arrived in Hollywood, I was so alone. There were no other Mexican actresses and very few women in the industry. And look at us today."
She continued: "We could not even bring our friends or spouses today because there are just too many of us for this mansion. Everybody in here is extraordinary and exciting and a survivor of the impossible and an example. With all of the things we have accomplished in this room, how exciting is it that the best is yet to come?"
