Three brazen robbers managed to steal £115,000 worth of jewellery from Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop pop-up store in New York. The heist took place on Saturday afternoon while customers were doing their Christmas shopping, and employees were distracted serving them.

According to the New York Police Department, three men, who have yet to be identified, entered the packed shop. One of them used an "unknown object" to forcibly open a jewellery cabinet full of merchandise.

Among the items stolen was a vintage Bulgari bracelet worth £70,700, an 18-karat David Weiss bracelet worth £29,000 and three men's Rolex watches varying in price from £2,600 and £8,000, the New York Post reports.

Staff spotted the three men and proceeded to ring the police, but not before the robbers managed to escape with their loot before officers arrived.

"There was an isolated incident Saturday afternoon involving a very limited number of items, which was reported to the NYPD," a spokesperson for Goop said.

"While the store was crowded during one of our busiest days, thankfully the NYPD responded quickly, our customers and staff are safe, and we remain open for business with proper security precautions in place."

The shop remains open with "proper security precautions in place"

The pop-up store was opened in late November, less than two weeks before the incident took place.

Gwyneth herself attended the grand opening on Wednesday 2 December, looking festive in a gold star-adorned sheer dress. The Shakespeare in Love actress has previously opened pop-up stores of her online retail store in Dallas, Chicago and Los Angeles.

The luxury goods on sale at the pop-up store include leather jackets, leather bracelets and tulle dresses.
