Now it's September; you can officially say it's autumn. Many 'Fall'-obsessed people immediately switch on Gilmore Girls in celebration. The show, which was produced by Warner Bros., is known for its autumnal connotations, from the opening credits, famously shot alongside a burst of rustic leaves, to the dynamic duo of Lorelai and Rory, played by Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel.

Although not immediately known for its fashion, the characters wore a plethora of great outfits throughout various scenes. Most notably, the lead protagonist, Lorelai Gilmore. The lovable character charts some serious Y2K style moments, and what's more, we can't help but be reminded of Princess Kate's early wardrobe when we look closely.

Camel coat

It's always cold in Stars Hollow, which is why Lorelai always has a great coat on, from her terracotta aviator jacket to her denim shrug.

One of her more pristine looks is her camel coat, and the Princess of Wales is definitely partial to a similar style, having worn a tailored version throughout her life as a working royal.

Although Princess Kate has never worn one publicly, she did don a similar shape in 2009, combined with a pair of skinny jeans, her modellesque legs lengthened with a pair of black cork wedges at Cirencester Park Polo Club.

Skinny jeans

Rory's mum, Lorelai, was the dark denim queen in the show, regularly sporting skinny, bell-bottomed jeans.

And it's something she has in common with Princess Kate! Prince William's wife's love for skinny jeans has been ongoing for many years, and we love the way she styles them, teaming them with both trainers and high heels.

Little black dress

Although Princess Kate tends to wear black only for formal occasions, she did wear a style that looked very much like Lorelai's in 2014, during the Royal Tour of New Zealand.
