Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey was without girlfriend Penelope Cruz when he hit the red carpet for the Hollywood premiere of his latest film, Two For The Money.
The Texan heartthrob, who joined co-stars Rene Russo and Al Pacino at the screening, didn't lack for a beautiful woman on his arm, however, as he brought his glamorous mother Kay along as his date.
And Penelope's absence doesn't mean there's trouble in paradise for Matthew and the Spanish star, who met on the set of their summer action flick Sahara.
Appearing on US TV, the actor explained that the couple are maintaining a long distance relationship while Pen is back in her home country shooting a film with Oscar winner Pedro Almodovar.
"It's a daily challenge," he said of his temporarily transatlantic romance. "We have nine hours' time difference right now – one says 'good morning' while the other is saying 'good night'. But you work it out... You have to try your best to communicate."
