David, now a hugely successful underwear model, first appears in the black-and-white video on his own, before he is joined on screen by James. The pair then strike a series of poses, James at one point standing with his arm wrapped around David's shoulder, and later leaping around in front of him as David smoulders on camera.

It's not the first time the duo have teamed up for a funny video. In 2010, they shared a bubble bath together to help raise money for Comic Relief, and they year before that, David appeared in a sketch showing the England football team being given a lecture by James' Gavin and Stacey character Smithy in honour of Red Nose Day 2009.

David's support for James as he launches Stateside will mean a great deal to the British TV star. As well as being friends, James is one of David's biggest fans.

Speaking shortly after they filmed their 2010 bubble bath skit together, James was full of praise for down-to-earth David.

"We shot for four hours. We went for dinner, we're hanging out," James told BBC One. "I'm like, 'Oh, my god,' trying to hold it together! And I'm literally, inside, I'm just going, 'You're the most beautiful man I've ever seen.'

"I was trying to be really cool," he admitted. "But he was great. I can't speak highly enough of him. When it came to dinner, he ordered in fluent Italian," he said of his fellow diner, who at the time played for AC Milan.

"I was like, 'I didn't know you're fluent in Italian?' He goes, 'Yeah, of course I am, I play on an Italian team.' I said, 'But you never give press conferences and things in Italian!' He goes, 'Because if I get one word wrong, then they'll just go, 'Ahh...he's an idiot.' (But) he was completely fluent!

"He was completely gracious," James added. "Every single person that met him he just took this time, and you saw them all walking away going wow — I can't speak highly enough about the guy, really.'"
