We have been loving This Morning with Rochelle Humes and Phillip Schofield, but when will the show's usual presenter, Holly Willoughby, be back on our screens?

According to Rochelle, who chatted about her gig on her Instagram stories, we will be seeing Holly back on the show on Wednesday 6 January, with Rochelle once again taking the reins for Tuesday's episode.

Phillip told viewers the reason for Holly's absence during Monday's instalment of the hit breakfast show, saying: "Holly is spending a couple of extra days with the family."

It's not known why Holly took the impromptu time with her loved ones, however, due to primary schools closing due to the nationwide lockdown, one viewer speculated this could be the reason. They wrote on Twitter: "Is Holly home schooling?" Another joked: "No Holly again, let me guess she's 'taking a well-deserved day off' just like last time."

Holly and Phil usually present the show together from Monday to Thursday, with Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary now taking over from Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford for the Friday episode.

The news that Alison and Dermot had a permanent slot on the show was confirmed back in December, and Ruth posted on Instagram about the update, writing: "That's Showbiz baby!!! Thank you all for your wonderful messages yesterday @eamonnholmes and I were overwhelmed by your kindness.

"As we said though, we’ll be back in February...until then we wish you all the best Christmas you can possibly have and here’s to healthier, happier times in 2021." Eamonn added: "We bow out of 15 years of our Friday slot on This Morning today. Thanks for the memories hope we made some for you too. Until February, may it be a Happy Christmas to you all."
