Gogglebox is returning for a Festive Special tonight and while fans are excited to watch the show, we can't help but revisit the amazing throwback photo shared by fan-favourites Giles and Mary in late 2020.

The regular faces on the Channel 4 programme took to Instagram in September of last year to post an incredible photo from their early marriage – and they look so different!

The couple, who met in their early twenties, could be seen looking amazing in the snap, with Mary wearing a patterned blouse with a stylish hat, while Giles sported a polo shirt and a striped hat.
Followers of the couple were loving the old photograph and flooded the comments with their amazement at how different they looked. One person said: "Look how young they look! I wonder what Giles had just said - maybe he whistled."
Another commented: "Omg Mary was gorgeous, Giles is punching" as a third said: "Giles you look so young, it’s a great picture of both of you and we can’t wait to see you both, you two are my wife’s favourites and mine of course." Their love story began when they were both just 21 years old and Giles was studying at Wimbledon Art School while Mary worked as a model.

The husband and wife, who live in Wiltshire, have been adored by Gogglebox viewers since they made their first appearance in 2015 after being approached to take part by a friend in the production team. They've stood out as an endearing and eccentric couple who sweetly call each other "nutty".

The new series of Gogglebox is due to begin sometime in February, as revealed by fan-favourites Jenny Newby and Lee Riley in December. Sharing a video addressing their Instagram followers, the pair told fans that they had finished filming for series 18. Lee said: "Hi everybody, we’d just like to thank you so much for all the messages during series 18. As you can see, we are on our last filming day today."
Jenny joked: "It’s been lovely coming to all your living rooms every week… I’ve loved loads of your furnishings, they’ve been very nice and I’ve pinched loads of ideas," before Lee added: "Anyway guys, we’ll see you all in February."
Luckily, fans won't have to wait too long to see the Gogglebox cast as the series is returning with a Festive Special on Sunday 2 January, which will see the families watching shows such as Jamie: Together at Christmas, Love Actually, James Bond No Time to Die.
