Jasmine was crowned the 2025 winner

Who won Bake Off??

Jasmine Mitchell was crowned the winner of The Great British Bake Off 2025. The 23-year-old medical student went up against Tom Arden and Aaron Mountford-Myles in the series 16 final.

Jasmine, who has alopecia, said of her win: "I hope that in winning Bake Off I have made my friends, family and Scotland proud. I miss being in Scotland a lot, I grew up in Edinburgh and it’s a big part of my heritage. I feel like the more time I spend in London, the more I long to be in the Scottish Highlands!

"If I had told myself three years ago that I would be going about my life without wearing a wig, with no hair, I would have laughed and said, ‘don’t be ridiculous’. I could never have imagined being on the Bake Off, let alone doing it with no hair."

She continued: "Life with alopecia has definitely been challenging at times. I am still very much in the process of learning to love it. But I am getting to the point where more days than not I am actually really enjoying looking a bit different.

"Having alopecia has (and is) changing my perception of what beauty is. Being authentically yourself, the way you were made to be, is so much more beautiful than trying to look like everyone else around you."

Toby left the show during the semi-final

Who left Bake Off in week nine?

Business development executive Toby became the ninth contestant to leave the Bake Off tent, after judges Paul and Prue decided to send him home during the semi-final. The 29-year-old, from Warwickshire, said of his departure: "It's tough to come back from serving a puddle of mousseline… I had a good comeback today… It's the good bits that I find hard to talk about. The best thing about being in the tent is definitely the people. The handshake was good, the star baker was good, but yeah the people were the best bit."

Toby went on to say: "I was expecting it, to be honest. After the technical puddle I knew it would take something incredible to pull it back, and as close as it was, my showstopper just didn't quite cut it."

He added: "I was obviously gutted to hear my name as there was a slight glimmer of hope after I managed to pull off a completely reimagined showstopper but overall I just felt so proud of myself."

Iain Ross was eliminated from the competition

Who left Bake Off in week eight?

While medical student Jasmine Mitchell was crowned Star Baker, Northern Irish software engineer Iain Ross was eliminated from the competition. After Noel shared the news, Iain, 29, said: "I didn't think I would make it this far – I never thought I would make it past the first couple of weeks. So to make it to the quarter-finals is something that I couldn’t ever have thought of. We have had the best group of bakers. We have made really, really good friends, and we always have a laugh. It's just been fantastic."

Iain went on to say that his "main take-away" from the competition is that he truly loves baking. "I was starting to stagnate with my bakes and being on Bake Off just reignited my passion and showed me that this is what I love doing in this life. Barely anyone in my life is as obsessed with baking as I am, so being around so many people that absolutely love baking is just incredible."

Lesley went home during Meringue Week

Who left Bake Off in week seven?

While business development executive Toby was named star baker this week, it was hairdresser Lesley's time to go home. The 59-year-old from Kent said of her departure: "Do you know what – I knew it was coming. It's like ripping the plaster off! Thanks so much for the experience, it has been amazing."

Lesley continued: "I knew I would be leaving as I couldn't get my meringue right and had resigned myself that I would be going. But I was proud that I had made it to week seven. The other bakers gave me a massive cuddle."

Reflecting on her time on the show, Lesley added: "I think I have grown as a person and I feel more confident in myself and my abilities. I have learned a lot of new skills, learned to trust my gut feeling, new skills and tips from other bakers, learned that you need to step through fear and take yourself out of your comfort zone, as it allows you to grow. I had the time of my life!"

Nataliia bid farewell to her fellow bakers

Who left Bake Off in week six?

Office assistant Nataliia bid farewell to her fellow bakers after failing to win over the judges during Pastry Week. Meanwhile, medical student Jasmine was crowned star baker.

Nataliia, who is from Ukraine and lives in East Yorkshire, said of her departure: "I am proud of myself and I think my little girl will be proud and I hope I have made my country a bit proud of me. Oh my gosh, I think I am going to cry. I have met all these wonderful people, I love you guys, you are all so nice. Oh, I am going to cry again!"

Reflecting on her time on the show, Nataliia said: "I've learned to trust myself more — to bake with my heart, to adapt under pressure, and to share my culture with confidence. I've also learned that even when something goes wrong, you keep going. That mindset has stayed with me far beyond the tent."

The 32-year-old continued: "I put my heart and soul into everything I did during my time there. I suppose that’s the magic and challenge of Bake Off — one moment can lift you up, and the next can really test you."

It was Nadia's turn to leave the tent in week 5

Who left Bake Off in week five?

It was Nadia's turn to leave the tent during Chocolate Week. The hairdresser from Liverpool said she "had the best time and made some amazing friends" during her time on the show. "I was fine about leaving in week five," she continued: "I was fine because I knew it was my week to go and I'd missed my kids, but I was also gutted too!"

Reflecting on her highlights and most challenging moments, she said: "I had so many good moments in the tent, and my biscuit box showstopper was probably my best moment, and the worst moment for me was the week I left. My favourite challenge overall was the filled monkey bread, as I love making things I've never done before, and now it's a family favourite. My worst challenge overall was chocolate week because it was hard to work with and very temperamental."

Jessika was eliminated from the competition in week four. The service designer said, "This was going to be my last year to apply, and I feel chuffed that I made it to the tent. I have met some incredibly talented, inspiring bakers, so it’s not all bad."

Sadly, it was Jessika's showstopper where "everything went wrong".

"My oven, my microwave, my cake, my biscuits, my meringue," she explained. "I was running back and forth trying to temper the chocolate, and it all just fell apart. It was a complete disaster. Oops!"

Did his fellow bakers cheer him up, though? "The other bakers were amazing," said Leighton. They rallied around me with hugs, kind words and so much support.

"It reminded me that Bake Off isn't just about the bakes – it's about the people, the friendships and the shared experience. I may have left the tent, but I gained a whole new baking family."

When asked about his favourite memory, he added: "My best moment was when I got told where I was going to be baking for episode one, walking up to my bench and seeing all my ingredients and my recipe there, and just being excited thinking "finally getting ready to do some baking!"
