Ever since it hit our screens in 1997, Cold Feet had us gripped, with its hilarious yet heartfelt storylines. And now, 13 years after its emotional finale, the hit comedy drama is back, and will be returning to our screens in 2016.
The original cast will be reprising their roles in the ITV series, with James Nesbitt, Robert Bathurst, Hermione Norris, John Thomson, and Fay Ripley all confirmed to start filming in Manchester in January. Helen Baxendale, who played Rachel, sadly won't be able to rejoin the cast, as her character was killed in a car crash in the penultimate episode.

The series became a cult classic when it first aired and the television audience were introduced to friends Adam and Rachel, Pete and Jenny, Karen and David. Now the BAFTA winning show is returning with an eight-part series that will rejoin the well-loved characters in the modern day.
The series finale left fans reeling with several loose ends, but now all those unanswered questions will suddenly be resolved. The new series will explore how Adam has coped without his soulmate Rachel, left to raise their son as a single parent.
Helen Baxdale's character died at the end of season five
Viewers will also find out how the relationship between David and Karen has progressed. Last we saw they had split up, but with three children together, that may no longer be the case. And we'll also see whether Pete and Jenny managed to spice up their evening routine.
Creator Mike Bullen is back at the helm of the series as the characters struggle to deal with turning 50 and begin to experience their own versions of mid-life crises. In a press release he said: "This feels like the right time to revisit these characters, as they tip-toe through the minefield of middle age. They're 50, but still feel 30, apart from on the morning after the night before, when they really feel their age. They've still got lots of life to look forward to, though they’re not necessarily the years one looks forward to!"
