Jenna Dewan Tatum revealed she prefers having short hair

The Step Up star revealed that when it came to getting the initial makeover, she turned to none other than celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin, who also works with stars including Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen.

"Jen Atkin and her magical scissors is what it is. I had long hair my entire life, and I had every color hair, but it was always long hair," she told Lipstick. "I think it was when Witches of East End was cancelled, and I had time for the first time. I think I was like. 'I just want something new,' and now it keeps inching and inching shorter every month."

She added: "I think I can go a tiny bit shorter, but after that, I don't know. I enjoy the movement, and I can't have hair that I have to 'do'. So if I can't wake up, shower and have it lay right, I won't do it."

The actress admitted she likes low maintenance styles

The actress, who is married to Channing Tatum, confessed that she prefers hair which doesn't require a lot of styling.

"Generally I shower or use dry shampoo, and it lays like this because it's such a good cut. It just lays nice," she said. "I have wavy hair, so it just falls into place, but it's way easier than long hair. It's so nice! It's a nice, fresh, new thing… it just gives you a new energy."

Although she has gone for long hair in previous years, Jenna revealed that "at the moment" she doesn't plan to try the look again soon, although she confessed she wouldn't be adverse to it "maybe for a role" in her career.
