Short hair: The hottest celebrity haircuts of 2017

2017 is the year of short hair, as is evident with the influx of celebrities and royals who have gone for the chop. Cutting your hair a few inches shorter can completely transform your appearance, as the Duchess of Cambridge proved after showcasing her new 'kob' haircut during Wimbledon.

Following in her big sister's footsteps, Pippa Middleton wasn't far behind in following the short hair trend, and was pictured in September with a fab new shoulder-length bob.

Other stars to have gone to the short side include Emma Roberts, X Factor star Louisa Johnson and Vanessa Hudgens.

The Duchess of Cambridge sure suits short hair! Her new look proved that cutting your hair just a few inches makes all the difference. Unveiled earlier this year, her haircut has inspired many to follow suit, including her younger sister Pippa Middleton. 

Emily Rajatoswki unveiled a new short do at Rihanna's star-studded Diamond Gala in September. The model's hair was transformed by celebrity hairstylist Jennifer Yepez, who cut it into an elongated shoulder-length bob, completing her new look with a warm caramel-hued tone.

Emma Roberts rocks a bob! The talented actress not only went for the chop back in August, but also switched  from being a brunette to a blonde after dying her hair a platinum blonde hue. The star's new look was created by Nine Zero One salon, who cut her hair a a good three inches  - enough to completely transform her look. 

X Factor star Louisa Johnson, who won the show back in 2015, wa spotted out and about during London Fashion Week in September looking fantastic with a new, elongated long-bob.

Pippa Middleton followed in sister Kate's footsteps in September, and was spotted out in London with a brand new hairstyle. Her long, brunette hair was transformed into a shoulder-length bob, which was styled in a sleek, straight 'do and a centre parting.

Earlier in the year, Vanessa Hudgens turned heads when she revealed her new bob haircut. The star, who is no stranger to experimenting with her looks, unveiled her new do on her Instagram. Celebrity hairstylist Nikki Lee, a favourite with Lea Michelle and Emma Roberts, was responsible for her fabulous new do.
