While sequins and metallics dominated the SAG Awards red carpet, we spied another prominent beauty trend on many of the A-List attendees - jewel-toned eye make-up. Stars including Emma Stone and Kerry Washington experimented with their eyeshadow to add a pop of colour to their red carpet looks.

Emma Stone opted for a muted take on the trend with a dark green eyeshadow - NARS' Eye Paint in Snake Eyes - along with a coat of black mascara and soft pink lipstick.

Kerry Washington also wore darker jewel tones to complement her white embellished gown. Make-up artist Carola Gonzalez used Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear Eyeshadow Palette in Smoky Steel to create a dramatic sapphire-toned smoky eye.

Meanwhile Sophia Bush showcased a bold beauty look to match her fuchsia Marchesa gown. Her look was created by make-up artist Patrick Ta, who mixed Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Vibration and Rouge Profond in Sophia's eye crease, before using a lipstick in place of eyeshadow over her eyelids.

The make-up artist applied Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in La Sensuelle over her eyelids, then completed the striking look with a swipe of purple eyeshadow on the outer corners.

Another star to try the trend is Emily Blunt, who matched her topaz eyeshadow to her gorgeous Roberto Cavalli gown. Make-up artist Jenn Streicher made Emily's eyes the focus of her look by using a number of Laura Mercier products, starting by applying the brand's Second Skin Cheek Colour Blush in Rose Bloom in the crease of her eyes.

Jenn followed it up by sweeping on a mauve-brown Fresco eyeshadow from the Laura Mercier Eye Art Artists Palette and a metallic cream powder eyeshadow, before completing the look with a terracotta eyeshadow, which she swept under the eyes for a more intense and dramatic finish.
