We all want thick, fluttery eyelashes. And unless you're genetically blessed with beautiful long lashes (#jealous), we're always on the hunt for ways to make them look as XL as possible.
Luckily, there are lots of tips and tricks to help you achieve eyelash perfection - read on to find out how...

1. Use eyelash curlers
This is a tried and tested way to make your lashes look longer. Many people are scared of using the tool, but as long as you're careful, it should be perfectly safe. Here's how: position your eyelash curler as close to the roots as possible without pinching any skin. Clamp down gently and hold in place for a few seconds, releasing very slowly and carefully. Then, move the curler further away from the root of the lashes, repeating the step.
Eyelash curlers are one of the best ways to create the illusion of lash length
2. Prime the lashes
Applying a primer not only coats the lash to make it appear thicker, but it also conditions it. Our top pick is the Diorshow Maximizer 3D Triple volume plumping lash primer.
3. Wiggle your mascara wand
Instead of zig-zagging the wand (this makes your lashes zig-zag too), wiggle the wand at the roots and then pull it through the lashes. The wiggling motion helps separate out the lashes and creates the illusion of thickness.
The Diorshow primer is one of our favourites
4. Apply multiple coats of mascara
We all know that one coat of mascara just isn't enough, right?! But for ultimate volume, let each coat dry before adding another, and use an eyelash comb brush to separate out the lashes after each application - this will avoid clumping.
As for which mascara to choose to make your lashes look longer, we love Benefit's They're Real, a cult classic, and TooFaced's Better Than Sex mascara. For serious volume, Bobbi Brown's Eye Opening Mascara is also a great option.
5. Fake it
If you want more volume while still maintaining a natural look, try adding individual false eyelashes to the outer corners of each eye. We love Eylure's Lash Pro Individual Lashes (below).
