Seven months after divorcing Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman has opened up on the changes she has made parenting her teenage daughters, Sunday, 18, and 15-year-old Faith.
The Oscar-winning actress has successfully transitioned to the small screen in recent years and will star in season three of Paramount series Lioness alongside Zoe Saldana.
The show shoots on location in Texas, but Nicole is raising her girls in Nashville, Tennessee, and has now revealed that she decided to fly home at any opportunity she would get to be there for her girls, rather than spending the time with the cast and crew.
"I go home to my family. I’ve got one child in junior year and one who's a freshman. So, I was like, 'Okay, I got to be there taking care,' you know? Multitasking, right?" she told Extra.
Lioness family
The comments come after Zoe shared that the cast and crew had become a "family," training together, attending concerts, going horse riding, and even spending Thanksgiving together.
"Nicole would [have joined us] if she was there, but as soon as Nicole finishes, she flies home to her family," she added. "And it’s so beautiful to see, too."
Created by Taylor Sheridan, Lioness follows an elite unit of female operatives tackling high-stakes undercover missions. In the upcoming third season, viewers will see "hidden networks, foreign operatives, and personal betrayals collide."
Nicole was originally only going to be an executive producer on the series until Taylor offered to build the actress a smaller supporting role in order to allow her to travel back and forth to be with her daughters.
Nicole and Keith's divorce
Nicole previously balanced intense shooting schedules for shows such as Big Little Lies and The Perfect Couple as she was married to Keith at the time.
But Nicole and Keith finalized their divorce in January 2026, four months after news broke that they had separated after nearly 20 years of marriage.
The custody agreement designates Nicole as the primary residential parent, awarding Keith 59 days of parenting time per year, but established joint legal custody for their two daughters.
Positive parenting
"They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent," their marital dissolution agreement read. "They will encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families."
The co-parents have stuck to that, with Nicole sending a public message to Keith on Father's Day 2026, posting a throwback picture of Keith carrying their daughters on his back.
Faith and Sunday's new roles
Together, Nicole and Keith decided to keep their daughters out of the spotlight, mandating neither could consider public opportunities until they turned 16, and insisting that the focus would remain on school.
Sunday made her modeling debut in October 2024 at the age of 17 and is about to enter her senior year of high school.
Although Faith has kept a lower profile due to her age, she has attended more red carpet events with her family in the past year and is entering her sophomore year.
