"Manifesting is using the power of your mind to change and create the reality you experience," Roxie Nafousi tells Hello! Fashion from her home in London, "It is a self-development practice that combines science, philosophy and wisdom. It is a way of living."

Roxie Nafousi is a self-development coach, manifesting expert and author of Sunday Times Bestseller Manifest, (the book counts supermodels Bella Hadid and Shanina Shaik as fans.) After years of living a hedonistic lifestyle in her early 20s, Roxie suffered depression on and off for six years.  In 2016 she decided to open up about her issues with the world through her writing. She created a 'mental health tool box' to help her to recover from depression and immediately felt it was her purpose to help as many people as she could reach to implement a 'tool box' of their own.

Roxie is an Iraqi-British best selling author

Now the author has a second follow up book on the way, Manifest: Dive Deeper, "This book is filled with new ideas, new perspectives and more personal examples that will help the reader to really up-level their manifesting practice and understanding," Roxie explains, "It is also filled with exercises to fill out throughout, making it part book and part workbook. I designed it to help people become their own healers, and to really encourage self-reflection and self-exploration."

Her commitment to transforming the lives of people and helping them to fulfil their potential, has seen her become one of the most prominent figures in the wellness world. Her motivational workshops often sell out straight away, so naturally when it comes time for us to start planning and preparing for 2023 we spoke to the 'Manifesting Guru' about what we can and should be doing to make sure we have the best year yet.

What can we do to make sure we are prepared for the year ahead?

This is the perfect time to get really clear on what we want from the year ahead. To do that, we need to first reflect on the year that has just gone. Spend some time evaluating what you learnt, what you discovered makes you actually happy, what you realise you need to let go of and what you want to change. Then you can use that information to help you to decide if you want to do things differently in the next year.

What should we focus our energy on for 2023?

"Empowerment, healing, joy, fulfilment and self-love."

Is there anything we can do in January to make sure we have 'good vibes' for 2023?

"Get into good routines. This is the best time to do it because people aren’t socialising as much, you have more time in the evenings and you are more motivated than ever to reset your habits. Take advantage of that and start incorporating really solid morning and evening routines that can then become a habit and therefore be more easy to sustain and commit to once the initial January motivation has passed."

Are there any rituals we can practise to make sure we are calm and prepared for 2023?

"Start by making a vision board. Then I recommend a daily gratitude practice, I have a few examples of different ways to do this in Step 5 of both my books, repeating affirmations and doing a weekly visualisation meditation."

How can we make sure we are setting the right goals for 2023?

"Make sure you are setting goals that are authentic to you, and not the goals that someone else wants for you or what you think you should want. Instead, ensure that they are really things that will actually make you feel fulfilled. We can so easily make goals that we think we should be aspiring to when in actual fact they aren’t things that really feed our soul or our sense of purpose."

Is there anything about 2023 that will be different to 2022 from a 'Manifesting' perspective?

"My second book is aimed to really encourage more focus on inner healing. Inner healing is what is required to really unlock the power magnetic, powerful and empowered versions of ourselves that exist - and that is the version of us that manifests the most powerfully and abundantly."

Roxie's first book is a Sunday Times Bestseller

What are you going to manifest for 2023?

"I have a lot of careers goals that I am working on but I am also manifesting more celebration, fun, travel and love this year."

What did you manifest in 2022 that came to life through your practice?

"So so so much!! Everything from being a Sunday Times Bestseller, to being a guest on Jay Shetty’s podcast. I even put attending the Fashion Awards on my vision board and then I got invited 2 weeks before."
