In what appears to be a cross between Betty Boop and Marilyn Monroe, Christina Aguilera has undergone a transformation into a vintage Hollywood pin-up for her upcoming 2005 calendar.

The edgy pics show off the sexier side of the Dirrty singer, who adopts retro-style hairdos and makeup as well as classically risque lingerie for the shots.

Having put aside the leather chaps and hair extensions she sported during her prior fashion phase, Christina says her latest image is inspired by icons including Marilyn, Marlene Dietrich and Mary Pickford. Admitting she's "fascinated" with the golden age of film, she adds: "I wanted to capture the authenticity of the Old Hollywood glam era."

The pop star will also be going for a retro feel on her upcoming album, based on the classic jazz sounds of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone. But there's no word if there will be similar inspiration for another of Christina's projects a fashion line aimed at young women set to debut in Europe next spring.
