Prince Carl Philip had an adventurous youth, which included a stint in motorsports, and now his eldest son, Prince Alexander, ten, is following in his footsteps.
In images obtained by Swedish publication Svensk Damtidning, Alexander and Carl Philip could be seen at a go-karting track with Alexander getting behind the wheel. The young royal, who made his go-karting debut last year, was competing in the Prince Carl Philip Racing Cup.
However, Carl Philip wasn't Alexander's only family member to offer support, as his younger brother, Prince Julian, five, was also there to cheer his brother on. Carl Philip's wife, Princess Sofia, and their other children, Prince Gabriel, nine, and Princess Ines, one, remained at home.
Before the race, Carl Philip and Julian were seen walking around the track, and the doting dad also presented Alexander with his helmet that carried a striking orange, yellow and black design.
Alexander currently competes in the youngest category, and royal fans will have to wait to see whether Julian later joins his sibling, as the youngest age allowed to race go-karts in Sweden is eight.
Following the race, Alexander and Julian shared a sweet sibling moment as they were seen play-wrestling, with the elder brother getting the upper hand. Carl Philip was also seen debriefing with his son following the race.
© Getty ImagesAlthough Carl Philip is a fan of racing, it appears that his mum, Queen Silvia, isn't too impressed with his antics. Back in 2016, the Swedish royal told broadcaster SVT: "Mum is a little worried. Racing is like an oasis for me. I can come here and be myself, it feels like I'm the same as everyone else.
"I don't feel inhibited because I am the prince; it's not something I think about while I race – it's all about driving as quickly as possible."

Carl Philip occasionally shares photos of the four children that he has with Princess Sofia. Back in June, when the royals marked Sweden's National Day, the doting father looked handsome as he was joined by his young daughter, Ines.
Little Ines was held away from the camera, but she looked so sweet in a traditional dress, consisting of the colours of the Swedish flag. Her hair was sweetly tied up with a hairband in matching colours. Meanwhile, the father-of-four wore a blue suit and naval hat.

One said: "Happy National Day, I wish you [well] Prince Carl-Philip and little sweet Princess Ines and everyone in your family," while a second added: "Happy National Day, beautiful princely family, beautiful picture of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Ines."
