Now and then: How Prince William and Duchess Kate's royal wedding guests' lives have changed since 2011

A lot has changed for Duchess Kate and Prince William since they got married at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011!

After the unforgettable royal wedding, the couple has shared many happy memories and welcomed three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Similarly, much is now different for their famous and royal wedding guests. Some have also welcomed children, others have embarked on new relationships, a few have been given new titles and the younger guests have certainly grown up!

Then: Pippa Middleton

Duchess Kate's maid of honour, Pippa Middleton, made an unforgettable appearance at the royal wedding.

The 27-year-old had worked part-time at her parents company, Party Pieces, and had also done some PR work.

Pippa lived with Kate in Chelsea, London prior to Kate getting married.

Now: Pippa Middleton

So many things have changed for Pippa since she was a bridesmaid to Kate!

She wrote a number of columns, including ones for Vanity Fair, The Sunday Times and a food column for U.K. supermarket magazine Waitrose Kitchen. In 2012, she published a book about entertaining entitled Celebrate.

Pippa became an ambassador for the Mary Hare School for deaf children and has publicly supported a number of causes.

After a few high profile relationships, she became engaged to hedge fund manager James Matthews in 2016. They married in May 2017.

The couple have managed to maintain a private life.

They welcomed son Arthur Mattews in October 2018 and recently welcomed daughter Grace Matthews in March 2021.

Then: Prince Albert and Princess Charlene

Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco weren't married yet when they stepped out to Kate and William's wedding.

The long-time couple made their public debut in 2006 and the Palace announced their engagement on June 23, 2010.

Now: Prince Albert and Princess Charlene

Shortly after Prince William and Duchess Kate's wedding, Albert and Charlene wed in a two-day celebration on July 1 and 2, 2011 at the Prince's Palace of Monaco.

In May 2014, it was announced the former Olympic swimmer was pregnant. That October, it was revealed she was having twins!

The couple welcomed Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques on Dec. 10, 2014.

Then: Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and husband Prince Daniel were one of many royal couples in attendance at the Cambridges' royal wedding.

At the time of Kate and William's wedding, Victoria and Daniel had been married for just under a year. They wed on June 19, 2010 at Stockholm Cathedral.

Now: Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel

How things have changed! Just a few months later, it was revealed in August 2011 that the Crown Princess was expecting her first child.

Victoria and Daniel welcomed daughter Princess Estelle on Feb. 23, 2012 followed by son Prince Oscar on March 2, 2016.

Crown Princess Victoria celebrated her milestone 40th birthday in July 2017.

The Swedish royals are seen during a garden photoshoot at their summer residence in July 14, 2020.

In 2021, Estelle turned 9 and Prince Oscar turned 5.

Then: Elton John and David Furnish

Elton John and David Furnish were a few of the celebrities in attendance at the 2011 royal wedding.

At that point, the long-time couple had been in a civil partnership for over five years. They made it official on Dec. 21, 2005, the day the Civil Partnership Act came into effect in the United Kingdom.

They were relatively new parents, having welcomed son Zachary on Dec. 25, 2010 via surrogate.

Elton had last released a studio album in 2006, with The Captain & the Kid and a collaboration album with Leon Russell in 2010 called The Union. The Gnomeo & Juliet: Original Soundtrack came out in February 2011 which featured the singer and longtime collaborator lyricist Bernie Taupin.

Now: Elton John and David Furnish

On Jan. 11, 2013, Elton and David became dads for a second time when they welcomed son Elijah.

Elton and David married in Windsor on Dec. 21, 2014, the ninth anniversary of their civil partnership, following the legalization of same sex marriage in the U.K. that March.

Since their births, Zachary and Elijah have mostly been kept out of the spotlight, but the doting dads do post occasional photos of the boys. They are seen here in June 2020 with David.

In 2019, Elton and Bernie Taupin won their first Golden Globe award together for "I'm Gonna Love Me Again" from Rocketman after working together since 1967 on more than 30 albums.

Then: Queen Letizia and King Felipe

Queen Letizia and Prince Felipe attended the royal wedding with Queen Sofia (left).

Felipe was a prince and Letizia was a princess at the time.

The couple's daughters, Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia, did not attend the wedding. The girls were 5 and 4, respectively, at the time.

King Felipe VI ascended the throne on June 19, 2014 upon the abdication of his father, her first solo royal engagement in Madrid at the age of 15.

Then: Princess Eugenie

Princess Eugenie joined elder sister Princess Beatrice for their cousin William's wedding.

The 21-year-old was still working on her post-secondary studies at Newcastle University, were she focused on Art History, Politics and English Literature.

Although she is not a working royal, she has undertaken public engagements. Her first solo engagement was for the opening of a new unit for Teenage Cancer Trust in Leeds back in 2008.

It is believed she met future husband Jack Brooksbank in 2010 in Verbier.

Now: Princess Eugenie

About a month after Kate and William's wedding, Eugenie and Jack attended their first big royal event together. They stepped out to Royal Ascot on June 18, 2011.

Eugenie graduated from university in 2012, gaining a bachelor's degree and a 2:1 honours.

In 2013, she moved to New York to work at online auction house Paddle 8 for three-and-half-years and she and Jack's relationship went long distance.

In 2015, the Princess of York returned to London and started work at Hauser & Wirth art gallery.

The couple were engaged in January 2018 and wed that October at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, with Prince George and Princess Charlotte part of the bridal party! (pictured)

On Feb. 9, 2021, Eugenie and Jack welcomed their first child, son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.

The 31-year-old has worked privately with a number of charities in the last decade, including establishing with best friend Julia de Boinville in 2017.

Then: King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima

A clean-shaven King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima stepped out to Kate and William's wedding without their three daughters.

At the time, Willem-Alexander was the Prince of Orange and heir apparent.

That year marked 10 years since the Dutch royals had announced their engagement. They revealed the sweet news in March 2001 and married in February 2002.

Now: King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima

Willem-Alexander ascended the throne on April 30, 2013, following his mother Princess Beatrix's abdication. He became Europe's youngest monarch at the time at the age of 46.

The couple's daughters are all teenagers now. Princess Amalia is 17, Princess Alexia is 15 and Princess Ariane is 14.

Then: James Middleton

Do you remember when James Middleton didn't have a beard? He was clean shaven at sister Kate's wedding!

James was 24 at the time. He had studied at Edinburgh University, but went on to focus on his cake business, Nice Group London, which he established in 2011.

Now: James Middleton

In the years after Kate and William's wedding, a beard has become a signature look for James.

The entrepreneur went on to develop Boomf, a personalized marshmallow company in 2013.

More recently, his passion for dogs led him to establish Ella & Co., which specializes in freeze-dried raw dog food, in June 2020.

James has used his platform to raise awareness about mental health and has penned a number of personal essays on the subject.

He had a few high profile relationships. In October 2019, he revealed his engagement to French financial analyst, Alizée Thevenet. The pair had planned to marry in 2020, but postponed their wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic.

James has expanded his family over the years with many animals, including a number of dogs, bees, a rabbit and more recently a goat. All of the adorable pets have become a sensation on his Instagram.

Then: Princess Beatrice

Beatrice attended the wedding with younger sister Eugenie.

At the time, the elder Princess of York was dating businessman Dave Clark.

The previous April, she became the first member of the Royal Family to compete in the London Marathon at the age of 21. She was also involved in a number of charitable causes.

In 2011, Princess Beatrice completed her studies in history at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Now: Princess Beatrice

After dating Dave Clark for about 10 years, Beatrice and her beau split up in July 2016.

It is believed she and property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi began dating in 2018. They went public with their relationship at the National Portrait Gallery in 2019 (pictured).

The couple were engaged in September 2019 and planned to wed at the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace, but the coronavirus pandemic forced them to cancel those plans.

Instead, they said "I do" in a private ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints, Royal Lodge, Windsor in a COVID-19-compliant event on July 17, 2020.

She is stepmother to Christopher "Wolfie" Woolf.

The 32-year-old supports various charities, including being the patron of the York Musical Society and is involved with the Teenage Cancer Trust and Outward Bound. She has also publicly raised awareness about dyslexia, which she has.

Then: David and Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham and David Beckham coordinated in shades of blue for Kate and William's nuptials.

The fashion designer was pregnant at the time with their youngest, Harper Beckham.

David was playing for the LA Galaxy at the time.

Victoria had launched her eponymous fashion label in September 2008 and by 2011 it was recognized as a key show for NYFW. In fact, she wore her brand to the Cambridges' wedding.

Everyone is so grown up! It's incredible to think that Harper is already 9. She was born on July 10, 2011.

Her older brothers, Brooklyn, 22, Romeo, 18, and Cruz, 16, have also matured in the last decade.

Brooklyn is engaged to Nicola Peltz.

The Beckhams have been involved with many business ventures in the last decade. Victoria now shows her label at London Fashion Week and has expanded into beauty.

The former Spice Girl received her Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2017 for her services to the fashion industry.

David retired from playing soccer in May 2013, but is still involved in the sport. He is the president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City.

Then: Queen Mathilde and King Philippe

Queen Mathilde and King Philippe were still princess and prince, respectively, because he had not ascended the throne yet.

The Belgian royals's four children did not attend the wedding ceremony. The kids were born between 2001 and 2008 so they were young.

Now: Queen Mathilde and King Philippe

Philippe ascended the throne on July 21, 2013, following the abdication of his father King Albert II.

Mathilde and her husband celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on Dec. 4, 2019. They wed in 1999 in Brussels with civil and religious ceremonies.

Their children are now teenagers and young adults: Princess Elisabeth is 19, Prince Gabriel is 17, Prince Emmanuel is 15 and Princess Eléonore is 13.

Then: Zara and Mike Tindall

Zara and her fiancé Mike Tindall are seen at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding reception at Buckingham Palace.

Princess Anne's daughter and the rugby player announced their engagement in December 2010, shortly after William and Kate revealed theirs.

Mike had competed in 11 Six Nations Championship competitions from 2000 to 2011.

Now: Zara and Mike Tindall

The couple wed at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh on July 30, 2011. The nuptials were about two months after William and Kate's and the newlyweds attended the event.

Mike retired from rugby in 2011 and went on to have a podcast on the subject, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby.

Zara and Mike welcomed daughter Mia in January 2014 followed by Lena in June 2018 after suffering from pregnancy loss. Zara is considered the first royal to speak out on the subject.

In March 2021, they welcomed son Lucas.

Then: Lady Louise Windsor

Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex's daughter Louise was just seven years old when she was a bridesmaid.

She was the second eldest of the four bridesmaids behind eight-year-old Margarita Armstrong-Jones, the daughter of Viscount and Viscountess Linley.
