Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg became Grand Duke on 7 October 2000 after his father, Grand Duke Jean, abdicated after 36 years of reign. Since then he has reigned along with the help of his wife, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, and his children: Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, Prince Felix, Prince Louis, Princess Alexandra and Prince Sébastien.

Recent developments

Prince Guillaume married Countess Stephanie of Lannoy on 20 October 2012. They share two children, Prince Charles, born 10 May 2020 and Prince Francois, born 27 March 2023.

Prince Felix of Luxembourg married Claire Lademacher in September 2013. They share a daughter, Princess Amalia (b. 15 June 2014), and a son, Prince Liam (b. 28 November 2016).

 On 23 April 2019, Grand Duke Jean died at the age of 98 after being hospitalized for a pulmonary infection. 

Princess Alexandra married Nicolas Bagory in April 2023.
