Troubled Charlie Sheen: 'I have a lot of work to do'

Thursday February 3, 2011

Troubled actor Charlie Sheen has released his first statement since being hospitalised last week.

The Two and A Half Men star compared himself to the actor Errol Flynn, who was infamous for his womanising and heavy drinking and who died of a heart attack at the age of 50.

Charlie said: “Like Errol Flynn, who had to put down his sword on occasion, I just want to say ‘thank you.’”

The 45-year-old added: “I have a lot of work to do to be able to return the support I have received from so many people.”

“I want to say thank you to my fellow cast-members, the crew of Two and A Half Men, and everyone at CBS and Warner Bros, especially Les Moonves and Bruce Rosenblum for their concern and support.”

Charlie will be undergoing rehab treatment in his own home and is due to be back on set by the end of February.
