She's made British television viewers chuckle for years with range of classic comedy characters, but now the Vicar Of Dibley actress has spoken for the first time about her weight.
The voluptuous TV star, who is 5ft tall and became a size 16 at the age of 13, says she thinks the "medical term for my condition is called body blindness" which prevents her from wanting to lose weight.
"I can honestly say that it doesn't bother me," she says in a new interview with Woman's Weekly magazine. "Sometimes I'll get out of bed and think, "Oooh, I need to do some exercise" - but that's probably about once a year, if that."
And according to the 51-year-old, her husband Lenny Henry wouldn't have it any other way.
"(Lenny) is Jamaican and comes from a family of big women. For him it's the norm and thin women are a turn-off."
