Patrick Swayze's widow shares marital problems
Lisa Niemi, widow of Patrick Swayze, has spoken out about troubled times in her marriage to the Hollywood star.
The 55-year-old, who last week laid bare her grief at Maria Shriver's Women's Conference, told Oprah Winfrey about the time the couple separated because of Patrick's heavy drinking.
"He was imploding badly," said the Texan of the rocky patch in 2003. "I didn't think he was going to live through it and I didn't want to be around to watch that."
The couple worked through their problems, however, and had a further six years of happiness before the Dirty Dancing star tragically died of pancreatic cancer in September.
